Safety and increased efficiency in water & wastewater applications

  • KROHNE presents measuring solutions for safety and increased efficiency in water supply and sewage disposal
  • Interested parties can also visit the booth digitally via KROHNE Insights 1to1 IFAT
  • FOCUS-1: intelligent process node for decentralized control tasks, e.g. automated filling of elevated tanks
  • New web-based platform for the water industry: complementary online tools for products with remote data transmission, e.g. detection of water losses
  • 0D/0D portfolio: Flow measurement technology for applications without straight inlet and outlet sections
  • Modular Water analysis panel for the measurement of various parameters in water treatment
  • Complete pressure measurement portfolio for equipping level, flow and pressure applications from single source

From May 30 to June 3, KROHNE will be presenting measurement solutions for safety and increased efficiency in water supply and sewage disposal at IFAT in Hall C1.339/438. As a special feature, interested visitors can also visit the stand digitally: the proven concept of digital KROHNE Insights 1to1 has been transferred to IFAT, i.e. at a pre-arranged online appointment, a KROHNE expert will guide visitors around the stand via live video link, present the solutions and answer questions.

As a highlight in Munich, KROHNE will present the intelligent process node FOCUS-1 for decentralized control tasks without complex DCS-based control loops. Developed together with SAMSON, the device combines a valve, flow meter, pressure transmitter, temperature sensor and unique diagnostic and control functions. In the drinking water sector, it is used, for example, in the intelligent automated filling of elevated tanks. FOCUS-1 is efficient in several respects: from procurement from a single source, to the installation effort, to keeping a much smaller emergency power supply on hand when used in a critical infrastructure.

Safety and efficiency are also ensured by a new web-based platform on which KROHNE will present special offers for the water industry. Here, customers will find complementary services for KROHNE products that can be equipped with additional remote data transmission. The platform will start with a tool for flow tracking in water distribution networks, which can be used, for example, to detect water losses (non-revenue water), to detect leaks or to monitor day/night flows. The data for the tool is provided by remotely transmitted data from WATERFLUX water meters with integrated pressure and temperature measurement, which are clearly visualized for the user in an online dashboard.

The issue of inlet and outlet distances will also be addressed at the KROHNE booth: many applications do not provide the appropriate installation conditions to meet the recommended or required straight inlet and outlet distances for flow measurement. These applications are often referred to as "0D/0D" (zero-D/zero-D) applications, and KROHNE will present an appropriate "0D/0D portfolio" that can be used without straight inlet and outlet sections, consisting of the WATERFLUX water meter, the OPTIFLUX for wastewater, and the AF-E 400 for auxiliary and supply circuits.

Another highlight at the booth is the modular Water Analysis Panel, a multi-parameter measuring system for water treatment applications. It consists of individual modules that can be combined to measure dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, pH and redox. Depending on requirements, the measuring system can be operated as a complete solution or with selected individual modules. This provides high flexibility and efficiency according to the application requirements.

Safety and efficiency also characterize the complete KROHNE pressure measurement portfolio for water and wastewater applications, which features robust and cost-optimized transmitters, ceramic or metallic diaphragms, and overload-resistant and long-term stable measuring cells for relative and absolute pressure. This allows level, flow and pressure applications to be equipped from a single source.
