Overview

Regular water quantity balances are of great importance for the efficient management of water supply networks. Highly accurate district metering using electromagnetic water meters provide water utilities with all information necessary to precisely monitor the water intake and water release of the water supply system. In order to be able to collect and process the measurement data centrally, the values must be collected from partly remote and far-flung measuring points.

For those applications, KROHNE offers a flow measurement solution with permanent wireless communication. The solution offers wireless transmission of flow, conductivity and other readings via a license-free wireless system (Radioline gateway). It transmits analogue signals (0/4…20 mA), digital pulses as well as serial data (Modbus RTU). Its transmission range of up to 20 km / 12.4 mi from one station to another makes this solution the ideal choice for infrastructure applications. The range can be extended by the use of intervening stations as each station amplifies the signal to the control panel as a repeater. Latest encryption standards provide data security.
