Your challenge
Water meters placed on the market in accordance with the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) 2014/32/EU of the European Parliament and Council, as well as the specific MI-001 requirement under European law, must be recalibrated according to German calibration regulations after the 6-year calibration period has expired. Only after this recalibration can the water meter be used for billing purposes for an additional 6 years. Recalibration requires the removal of the water meter and its shipment to a calibration facility, resulting in significant downtime for the measuring device.
