On Girls‘ Day & Boys’ Day on 3 April, companies, businesses and universities throughout Germany opened their doors to young people.
KROHNE also took advantage of this opportunity: at the Duisburg site, nine girls and boys had the chance to learn about apprenticeships and study programmes in the fields of IT, skilled trades, natural sciences and technology. In workshops and various activities, they were given an insight into everyday life at KROHNE and were able to put their skills to the test. The staff responsible for apprenticeships, the apprentice representatives and the works council were on hand to offer advice and support.
The day focussed in particular on the areas of electronics and metalworking. The participants were able to ask questions directly, make initial contacts and gain valuable experience.
‘Girls‘ Day & Boys’ Day is an excellent opportunity to get young people interested in technical professions and to familiarise them with the variety of career opportunities,’ explains Maria Schrade, responsible for industrial apprentices at KROHNE in Duisburg. ‘We look forward to continuing to support such events in the future.’
