For diversity, tolerance and commitment to democracy

Together with over 40 German family businesses and two associations of entrepreneurs from eastern Germany, KROHNE is supporting the “Made in Germany - Made by Diversity” initiative. In the run-up to the state elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg and beyond, the initiative is promoting diversity, tolerance and democratic commitment. The focus is on the importance of diversity as an economic success factor for companies.

“Without diversity in our country and in our company, we would hardly be able to achieve our growth targets and create any new jobs: Over 800 people from 25 nations work together at our site in Duisburg alone, and over 4000 worldwide” explains Ingo Wald, Managing Director of KROHNE Messtechnik GmbH and member of the KROHNE Group Executive Board.

“Like many other companies, we also represent a small cosmos in which people come together and integrate regardless of their origin, gender, religion or political views by working together. That's why our products are 'Made in Germany' and not 'Made by Germans'. We see this diversity as an enrichment and consider it essential for our entrepreneurial success. And seen across all companies, it is precisely this success that creates prosperity in Germany,” continues Wald.

The diversity of our society is an important achievement of democracy in Germany, and it must be defended against extremist influences, at every election and now also in everyday life. After all, conflicts also arise in a diverse society: we must take these conflicts seriously and include them in the discourse. No one should feel left alone, because that is the breeding ground for extremism. We all have a responsibility here, not just politicians.
