Virtual Reference for water meters approved according to OIML R-49-1:2013 and MID MI-001
Innovative technology saves cost and simplifies installation in custody transfer applications
The re-certification of electromagnetic flowmeters/ water meters OPTIFLUX 1300, 2300, 4300, 5300 and 6300 according to OIML R-49-1:2013, accuracy class 1 and 2, now includes the virtual reference function. With this technology, which was previously only available for non-CT measurements, customers can now also save costs and installation efforts for the meters in custody transfer applications.
Virtual reference is an innovative grounding method that allows the flow sensor to be installed in any pipe, without grounding rings or grounding electrodes. This saves costs for grounding rings, especially with large pipe sizes, simplifies installation and helps operators to reduce systematic failures as faulty grounding is the most common cause of error when commissioning an electromagnetic flowmeter.
