Wolkentanz 2006, Kristian Dubbick (*1956), Pigment colours on handmade paper
Wirt als ein kint
wirt toup, wirt blint!
dîn selbes icht
mûz werden nicht,
al icht, al nicht trîb uber hôr!
lâ stat, lâ zît,
ouch bilde mît!
genk âne wek
den smalen stek,
sô kums du an der wûste spôr.
Werd wie ein Kind
werd taub, werd blind!
Dein eigen Sach
zunichte mach.
All Ding, all Nichts vertreibe nur!
Lass Zeit, lass Ort,
lass Bilder fort!
Geh ohne Weg
den schmalen Steg:
so kommst du zu der Wüste Spur.

Become like a child,
Turn deaf, turn blind!
Your own substance
Must dissolve in the void.
Drive all substance, all nothingness away!
Leave space, leave time,
Leave images behind.
Walk the narrow path
Without direction,
Thus you will find the desert trail.

Deviens comme un enfant,
Deviens sourd et aveugle!
Ton propre être lui-même
Doit se réduire à rien.
Chasse tout ce qui est
Et tout ce qui n'est pas.
Délaisse lieu et temps,
Quitte aussi les images!
Evite les chemins
Et suis la piste étroite
Qui te fera trouver
La porte du désert.

Aus dem Granum Sinapis von Meister Eckhart (ca.1260 - 1327) *

Öppen Fjärd 2006, Eva Sjöhdahl-Essén (*1957), Oil on paperboard, 57cm x 75cm 24cm x 33cm

*On the text:

Meister Eckhart (circa 1260 to 1327) was one of the most significant theologians, mystics and philosophers of the Middle Ages. His thoughts as expressed in his writings, poetry and sermons are amazingly close to those of the Buddhists. Eckhart's concept of 'Desert' is comparable to the Buddhist concept of ‘Nirvana’. The printed poem is the 7th verse of his 8-verse Middle High German song 'Granum sinaps' (The mustard grain)

High quality, hand signed artists prints of the depicted works, sized approximately 30cm x 40cm, can be obtained at cost price via KROHNE Duisburg for €60 each.
